The age of pop consumerism is back! What you see on the aisles of Walmart might as well turn into the must-have bag at Colette, Paris. Within the past few seasons, designers like Jeremy Scott and Olympia Le Tan have turned everyday consumer products into luxury items with a hefty price tag that can probably buy you a whole rack at Walmart. But Karl Lagerfeld took this fad into a whole new level with a supermarket-themed show for Chanel’s F/W 14-15 collection. And in case you’ve missed it, it’s all in the book Chanel Shopping Center, published by Steidl. Expect to see everything tramp-stamped CHANEL – from CoCo Flakes to Lait de Coco bags, Chanel No.0 water bottles to Mademoiselle doormats. The book is $29 and 99 CoCo-cents.
